The LUM After School Program provides safe, fun and enriching childcare for children in afternoon kindergarten to 5th grade. The program serves up to 42 children for three hours each school day, enabling their parents to finish their workday. The children are transported from local elementary schools to LUM where they work on homework, have a nutritious snack, and participate in religious education, crafts, music, and other fun and educational activities. In addition, the group goes on numerous field trips. The program is staffed by a professionally trained educator and an assistant. Many volunteers and several van drivers also help.
