Programs Jubilee Christmas
 

Jubilee volunteers

LUM Jubilee Christmas is our community's largest Christmas assistance program. One Saturday each December, LUM member churches become Jubilee Toy Shops where low-income parents can select new toys, clothing, and gift certificates for their children. Jubilee spreads the joy of the season in a way that supports the strength of the family unit and the dignity of parents. Jubilee serves over 600 families and over 1600 children. Monetary contributions as well as donations of new toys and clothing, plus the help of over 1,000 volunteers make the annual Jubilee Christmas possible.

MAKE A DONATION

  • Money—Contributions from individuals, families, civic and university organizations, church groups, businesses and other groups are welcome! Please make your check out to LUM and write "Jubilee" on the notation line. Bring or mail to LUM at 525 N. 4th St., Lafayette IN 47901
  • Toys and Children's Clothing—Donations of NEW toys and children's clothing are needed (ages 12 and under). If your congregation is a LUM member church (click here for list), you may take your donation to your church. Donations are also accepted at LUM (see at left for address and hours). Donations should be delivered before December 10.

FOR VOLUNTEERS

  • AT LUM (sign up online below or call LUM): Help with registration, sorting toys, and other pre-Jubilee tasks at LUM. See online sign-up below or call LUM at 423-2691.
  • AT JUBILEE SITE (contact church directly): You can also help at a specific Jubilee site. Volunteer opportunities include setting up the day before, helping parents gift-wrap their selections on the day of Jubilee, and clean-up afterwards. If interested, contact participating church.

Thurs 12/10, 4-7pm: Carry toys, canned hams, and other supplies to cars at LUM (other volunteers will be picking up these items and delivering them to host sites) (need 8)
Sat 12/12, 10am-1pm: Answer the phone at LUM on Jubilee Day (need 1)
Sat 12/12, 1-4pm: Answer the phone at LUM on Jubilee Day (need 1)
